Ida Ngambeki is an Assistant Professor of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University. Dr. Ngambeki graduated from Smith College with a B.S. in Engineering and from Purdue University with a PhD in Engineering Education. Dr. Ngambeki’s key areas of research interest include: Cybersecure behavior, social engineering, cybersecurity Education, cybersecurity Policy, and cybersecurity workforce development. Dr. Ngambeki’s research investigates human factors in cybersecurity, how the affordances of information technologies affect individuals' learning and decision-making and the wider policy implications of those choices, how social and personality factors can be manipulated to compromise cybersecurity, the social and psychological factors influencing individuals' cybersecurity choices, how students learn secure programming, how individuals develop an interest in and make-decisions about their careers in computing and how individuals use information technology to engage in political participation.
Minglu is a second year master student in CNIT. My research interests are data visualization and machine learning.
I am a first year PhD student researcher at Cybersecure Behavior Lab, Purdue University, under the supervision of Dr. Ida Ngambeki. My research interests lie in the field of human computer interaction in cyber security and understanding its contemporary applications using data science and machine learning techniques. I am passionate about using data to decipher the complexities of human behavior in cyber security and building learning and awareness infrastructure to strengthen cyber security posture. I currently teach Data Visualization fundamentals at the sophomore level. I am also affiliated with WiCyS and CERIAS.
I earned my master’s degree in Computer & IT from Purdue University in 2020, during which I researched behavioral models that predict predilection towards cyber-scamming. Apart from this, I have worked on an NSF funded project for building educational tools for teaching secure programming and a DHS funded project for establishing a nation-wide curriculum in the field of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) cyber security. I also have research experience in the field of cryptography, where I analyzed image cryptosystems and implemented the break for state-of-the-art algorithms to successfully extract information from encrypted images during my bachelors.
